He lived a Christian life and was a active member of Grace Lutheran Church of Modesto for 52 years. He was also a talented musician and enjoyed playing the saxophone and clarinet. His favorite hobby was carpentry, and he created many beautiful wooden works of art. Visitation is 1-4 PM, Monday, September 14, 2009 followed by a chapel service, 2 PM, Tuesday, September 15, 2009; both at Lakewood Funeral Home. Burial with military honors following the service at Lakewood Memorial Park".3,6

He is survived by his loving wife Mary; daughter Shelley Hewson; sons Ronald and Donald Markstone and daughter-in-law Andrea; two loving grandchildren Jackson and Casey Markstone; sisters Florence and Lolly Larsen and Betty Davidson. Service will be held Thursday, June 17th at 1pm in the Evergreen Chapel, New Tacoma Cemetery. Our thanks to Multi Care and Hospice for their care.1,2 He was the son of Arthur Markstone and Ellen M.
